InvestigationsInvestigations by their very nature are reactive rather than proactive. While every year we budget personnel resources for these services, one of our biggest challenges is completing all investigations in a relatively timely manner. Because the seriousness of allegations and the complexity of each investigation can vary dramatically, we are in a continual state of reprioritizing the investigations and reassigning available personnel to these cases. We classify our investigations as follows: Administrative (Noncriminal)Generally involve alleged violations of State law or University rules or regulations. Criminal (Financial Related) Work under direction of the University Police or other law enforcement agency. Sexual Harassment Involve allegations of violations of the University's Sexual Harassment Policy. Hotlines The State of Florida has established the "Whistle-blower" and "Get Lean" Hotlines where citizens can call, without leaving their names, with complaints of fraud, waste, abuse, or misuse of State resources. Complaints relating to FSU are forwarded to our Office for review and investigative action, if appropriate.
